Italy screens Iran blockbuster Salesman

Italy has screened Iranian blockbuster ‘The Salesman’ in presence of its director Asghar Farhadi.

The movie went on screen at open-air space of Trastevere San Cosimato in the Italian city of Rome.

Other films directed by Asghar Farhadi, including ‘About Elly’ and ‘A Separation’ have previously been screened at the same place.

Farhadi's film won the award for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 69th edition of the Academy Awards and two awards at the 70th edition of Cannes in France.

This was the second time that Farhadi won an Oscar. In 2012, he became the first Iranian to win the prestigious award for his film ‘A Separation’, which also won the Best Foreign Language award.

‘The Salesman’ tells the story of a young couple named Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) who move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. But an incident linked to the previous tenant dramatically changes their life.
